Digital marketing has become an important element of a company’s sales and marketing strategy. Understanding the fundamentals of marketing and how digital fits in to the growth plan for your business or organisation is a key first learning.

In this session we explore the core principles of marketing, such as the 7 P’s, SWOT analysis, segmentation and positioning, and how these tools are used in the creation of your digital marketing strategy.

  • Explore the history of digital marketing, from its early days through the modern day, understanding its increasing significance in creating a marketing campaign that builds real value in a business.

We’d all rather buy products or do business with companies that we know, like and trust.

In the first half of this session we look at a proven process for developing a clear brand strategy, which combined with a strong visual identity, creates a company brand that will entice more customers to your door.

Building on the foundations of brand, we explore the key elements required on your website to convert more prospects in to paying customers.

Digital Advertising

The marketing opportunities for a digital advertising campaign are vast, with over 144 billion search queries every hour being processed by Google alone. Digital advertising has instant impact, is completely measurable and can generate a fantastic return if correctly aligned to your wider digital marketing strategy.

In this session we explore the practical tools and processes you will need know in order to develop and launch a digital adverting campaign across all major web browsers and social media platforms.

  • Understand the power of digital advertising for building brand awareness and generating new business enquiries for your company or product.

  • Learn how to research, plan and build advertising campaigns for your business that will provide instant reach and generate a positive return on the investment.

SEO & Content

SEO or Search Engine Optimisation is a technical term given to the process of improving the search engine rankings of your website.

In the first half of this session we focus on practical tips on how to setup your website and build external links to acheive improved google rankings.

Supporting SEO, we look at the importance of content and content marketing as a process of attracting new customers as well as improving your search rankings at the same time.

Social Media

Social Media is constantly developing and changing. Today, your customers expect you to be present and active on social media channels; it marks your business as relevant and trustworthy. The power social media holds to reach your customers is a hot topic for businesses, and key part of the 2018 digital leaders programme.

In this session we explore the strengths and weaknesses of the major social media channels and how to write an effective social media plan. We also show how you can raise brand awareness, generate sales and deal with social media PR incidents.

In this session we also look at developing core leadership skills around board-level communication and reporting on marketing, as well the process for developing a world-class inhouse marketing function.

Course Details

Liverpool Science Park is home to the 2020 digital leaders course. Phil and the Elephant Digital team will welcome our ‘Digital Leaders’ each month with a hearty lunch and a learning environment equipped to get the absolute best from each session. You are welcome anytime from 12.30pm for lunch and welcome and then the session will start at 13:00pm and finish at 16.00pm.

Each Digital Leaders cohort is made is made up of a small and intimate group of marketing professionals and senior/aspiring leaders.  We have a private studio where the cohort can explore the world of digital marketing, learning from industry experts and creating their own digital marketing strategy.
