The big day has finally arrived, John Lewis has released their Christmas advert for 2016!
This years offering is a heartwarming story about Buster the dog and his owner Biff being gifted a trampoline for Christmas.
The chosen song was the Vaults cover of Randy Crawford’s 1980 jazz hit ‘One Day I’ll Fly Away’.
John Lewis recently released a statement saying that their infamous Christmas adverts are by far their most profitable ROI, and we’re not surprised!
Very rarely do adverts generate such a media frenzy as John Lewis’ festive ad, with last years advert gaining over 24 million views on YouTube.
John Lewis skilfully creates a heart-felt, nostalgic narrative which appeals to all ages every year, by combining lovable characters and a moving cover of a classic song.
This is one of the best examples of a company using video to create a buzz on social media.
